About a month ago I published this article about my personal heroes. I want to thank them for enrichening my life and eventhough they don’t know me, they made me laugh, cry, think and so much more. Normaly people celebrate actors, writers and entertainers when they are dead. It’s much better to do that when they are still alive. They may not recieve my celebrations, but the chance they do is much greater then when they are six feet under.
So here is the next round of my hero-list.
Thank you Clint Eastwood for all your work and the hours of amusement you granted me. From the early spaghetti westerns like The Good, The Bad and the Ugly to the, at that time unpresidented, Dirty Harry movies. And later on onforgettable movies like Unforgiven, Gran Torino and Million Dollar Baby.
I first saw this woman in a movie with Kurt Russell. She became a true monument in the world of acting.
The movie was Silkwood. The actress is Meryl Streep. What a woman! What an actress! She just might be the best actress ever lived so far. Sophie’s Choice, Kramer vs Kramer, The Devil Wears Prada, The Iron Lady and so much more. I don’t know how many Oscars she wan, but it must be alot. Thank you, Meryl! You are truly brilliant.
Dustin Hoffman is almost 80 years old. I don’t think he is still making movies. But what he made so far is incredible. I will never forget the dentist scene in the movie Marathon Man. It still gives me the shivers just thinking about it. But his moviecareer is much bigger then just that movie, of course. Movies like Rain Man, The Graduate, Hook, All The President’s Men, Tootsie and so on. Thank you mister Hoffman for many, many hours of pleasure in the brilliant movies you acted in. Like all the great actors you made the movies better by being in it.
I like to conclude this part of my personal tributes with one of my absolute favorites. Christopher Walken. Everything is right about that man. His style, his smile, his walking, everything. The Deerhunter, The Comfort of Strangers, King of New York, Batman Returns, The Stepford Wives and so much more. I thank you for your incredible performances for so many years in a row.
Thank you all. I hope my celebration reaches all of you. Please stay alive for as long as possible. You gave the world so much. Thanks again.
